Once again the CWA Perth Belles are thrilled to be hosting their annual Mothers Day High Tea fundraiser – nice and early – i.e. the weekend before Mothers Day!

In the genteel Art Deco setting of the Mount Lawley Bowling Club, served on beautiful vintage china, we’ll be offering you an afternoon of delicious home-cooked sweet and savoury delights accompanied by potted teas and coffee.

This year our fundraising efforts will be donated to the CWA’s Sir James Mitchell Education and Welfare Fund. This Fund, named in honour of a former Western Australian Governor, is wholly supported by the voluntary donations of CWA Branches in Western Australia. Cal Wilson – The Astor Theatre

Cal’s made some awful decisions – relationships, jobs, the ‘90s. She’s made some great ones as well, she just didn’t realise at the time.

People say that everything happens for a reason, but what if it’s just a terrible reason? Can you really learn from your mistakes, or is hindsight just nostalgia for the path you didn’t take?

Cal’s trying to make sense of everything she’s ever done. Or she might just tell some jokes. You’ll only know afterwards.

South London new-wave legends Squeeze are headed for Australia in 2018 for a run of not-to-be-missed shows. With hits like ‘Cool For Cats’, ‘Tempted’ and ‘Up The Junction’, Squeeze will bring the soundtrack of the 70s and 80s into full focus with special guest punk poet Dr John Cooper Clarke.

Squeeze first formed in 1973, brought together by an ad in a sweetshop window. By 1977 they had made their recording debut and enjoyed a string of hits which lasted until 1982, the maturity of their songs outliving their initial burst of chart activity on the back of New Wave.

Over the years there have been solo careers and occasional separations, but the Ivor Novello Award-winning act have been a consistent fixture of the UK and US music scenes over four decades, with recent activity including the critically acclaimed album soundtrack to the BBC sitcom ‘Cradle to Grave’ in 2015 and a triumphant return to Glastonbury in 2016.

Their first trip downunder since re-forming a decade ago, Squeeze have never been more vibrant, relevant and on point as they couple their pop sensibilities with poignant lyrics and a live show that’s not to be missed.
